Surf
If you’re looking for perfect waves, Rote Island is your dream destination. Here you’ll find world-class waves with fewer crowds than other neighbouring Indonesian Islands. When you surf Rote Island, you’re accessing high-quality waves and stunning scenery that make this region one of the best surfing holiday destinations in the world.
March to November is the ideal surf season for Rote Island, with offshore winds and perfect conditions. The quality and consistency of the waves is incredible and it’s the perfect location for a surf trip to remember.
T-Land is the resort’s main wave. It’s one of the longest waves (600 to 1200 ft) in Indonesia and thanks to its three sections, it can be ridden by surfers of all abilities. It’s consistent and breaks from 2 to 15 ft.
This wave is often compared to G-Land, but it’s more accessible and manoeuvrable. It’s offshore in the dry season, from March to November, and the T-Land resort’s boat will take you right out to the lineup.
Boa - This right-hand peak is a 10-minute motorbike ride away, or it can be reached by boat too. It’s a powerful wave with a fast takeoff and a good tube section. It breaks at mid-tide and is best with mild wind, early in the morning and just after sunset. It’s rare to find people riding it.
Suckies - Also known as Sucky Mamas or Peanuts, it’s a 10-minute boat ride away in Fedok Village. Suckies is a short, intense and powerful right-hander, with fun barrels breaking at half and high tide. With few crowds, there’s a big chance you’ll get this wave to yourself.
The Bommie - Located in Nemberala Bay, this is a shorter and more intense right. It has a fast take-off and breaks on a reef that ends in a deep water canal. It is at its best at low tide but can break at high tide with a big swell. The resort also offers you direct access to this wave.
Squealers - At Nemberala Beach, you’ll find this fun wave that is perfect for beginners. It’s a right and left-hander that breaks at half and high tide.
